Same Heart, Elevated Game

Red Zone Sports Grill was never just about a restaurant– it is about building a place that feels like home.

Owned by Josh and Emily Taylor, Red Zone evolved from a shared dream shaped by faith, family, and the belief that the best moments don’t just happen on the field, but are crafted around a table.

Josh and Emily’s story began in Jackson, Tennessee. Josh was playing for the Double-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, and Emily was working for the team. Their paths first crossed under stadium lights, then again at a local sports bar — and when Josh “slid into her DMs,” the rest was history.

Nearly five years into marriage and now raising two children, the Taylors have built their life around creating spaces where people feel welcomed and known.

While their love story began in Tennessee, Josh is proudly born and raised on the West side of Arizona. Coming home after his professional baseball career wasn’t just about geography — it was about planting roots where his story started. When he retired from baseball March 2025, the opportunity to take on Red Zone presented itself quickly. Owning a restaurant was always the dream for life after baseball, since Emily worked in the industry for many years while balancing school and chasing her own dreams.

Red Zone is a perfect blend of both of their roots. The kitchen is scratch-made and inspired by Southern hospitality — including Emily’s grandmother’s mashed potato recipe from a small farming town in Tennessee. It’s one of the dishes that brings family together after long days, the kind that shows love without needing words. That same intention carries into their sauces, soups, comfort-driven classics, and the way every plate leaves the window.

The Taylors are hands-on owners. With an open kitchen and a heart for hospitality, they believe in being present — greeting guests, checking on tables, learning names, remembering orders. On many days, you’ll see their own children at the restaurant too, growing up between booths and high-tops, learning what it means to serve others and build something as a family.

But more than the food or the games on the screens, Red Zone is about belonging.

It’s where kids are welcome.
Where regulars are known by name.
Where youth teams celebrate wins and families make Friday night traditions.

Through local partnerships, monthly give-back initiatives, and a deep love for this community, Josh and Emily believe what they’ve been given is meant to be shared. Red Zone isn’t just a sports grill — it’s a gathering place, a second home, a place where everyone can feel like part of the team.
